River Forest, Ill. -
Tori Ghilardi has been named the new Assistant Director of Athletics effective immediately. Ghilardi will be resuming her work as the Head Athletic Trainer, while having further responsibilities within the athletic department.
Ghilardi has been crucial to the success of Dominican's athletic department and has gone above and beyond her duties as the Head Athletic Trainer. Her work during the Covid-19 pandemic was paramount to the continued success of the department.
"Dominican has provided me so many opportunities to learn and grow as a professional over the past three years, and I am excited to enter into my fourth year with this new role," Ghilardi said. "I look forward to continuing to serve our student athletes, promoting health and well-being, and making a positive impact within the Department of Athletics."
In October of 2020, Ghilardi was elevated to the Head Athletic Trainer position after joining the department as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in August of 2019.
Ghilardi came to Dominican with a Master of Science in Athletic Training from Illinois State University, where she worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with the women's soccer program. While serving as the main medical provider for the soccer team, she was also a clinical preceptor for students in ISU's Athletic Training Education Program.
The Milwaukee, Wisconsin native obtained her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016. As an athletic training student, she assisted in providing medical care to the Badgers' football, soccer, cross country and volleyball teams as well as various high school athletes in the Madison area.
Ghilardi's experience includes a brief stint as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the track & field and gymnastics teams at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in the spring of 2017.
