River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Department of Athletics and Dr. John Planek have announced the hiring of Audrey Gaberik as one of the university's athletic trainers.
Gaberik, a Berwyn, Illinois native, graduated from North Park University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Right after graduation Gaberik was the North Park University dance coach, where she recruited and organized the competitions and events her team participated in and taught the choreography and techniques. During the same time as being the dance coach, Gaberik was also an athletic trainer at Oak Park & River Forest High School. During her time at Oak Park & River Forest, she served over 1400 student athletes in all athletic training needs, such as overseeing athletic events, coordinating treatment plans, and concussion oversight, and participated in multiple community outreach events like Women in STEM.
Before coming to Dominican University, Gaberik served as a physician extender where she treated a wide variety of patients, educated her patients on diagnoses and treatment plans and diagnostic tests, and had other responsibilities.
