River Forest, Ill. - The Stars gave Illinois Institute of Technology all they could handle, but fell in heartbreaking fashion to the Scarlett Hawks in five sets.
The Scarlet Hawks would come out strong in the first set securing a 25-18 victory before the Stars matched their energy and won the second set in the same 25-18 fashion. After a 13-12 score, IIT rattled off eight straight points to build the lead 21-13. After a Stars' timeout, Dominican would crawl back into the set to a 23-18 score before the Scarlet Hawks completed the set, 25-19.
The fourth set saw Dominican edge out a 25-22 victory to send the match to five. In the fifth set, IIT came out to an early 9-4 before the Stars rallied to a 13-12 lead. The battle would ensue to a 18-18 score. Unfortunately for the Stars, the Scarlet Hawks secure back to back kills to lock up the set 20-18 and secure the conference win.

Dominican falls to 6-15 overall and 3-7 in NACC play. The Stars return to Igini Sports Forum on Friday to take on Wisconsin Lutheran at 7:00pm.
