River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's volleyball team lost 3-1 to Wisconsin Lutheran College on Friday.
The first set was as close as can be and took two extra points for WLC to win 27-25. The second set once again needed additional play, but the Stars couldn't find a way to close it out as they lost 26-24. Dominican was able to hold their ground in the third set with a 25-23 victory. Finally, WLC wore the Stars down and took the match with a 25-16 final set.
Dominican was led in kills by junior
Cassidy Spies, who had 17. Spies also led the team with 16 digs. Sophomore
Olivia Mendell led the Stars in both aces and assists.
The Stars are back in action tomorrow night when they host Alverno College at 7:00 p.m.
