RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's softball team swept its doubleheader with Mount Mary on Friday evening in non-conference action at the Ballpark at Rosemont.
Game One
Dominican raced out to an 8-3 lead behind timely hitting and a solid starting outing from
Allyson Dilday (8-1). The Stars then held off a Mount Mary comeback in the final two frames, securing an 8-7 victory in the opener.
Delaney McRiley had a team-high three hits and knocked in one run.
Geneva Pollman was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI, adding a walk.
Makayla Barnes also had multiple hits, scoring once and picking up an RBI.
Game Two
Pollman (2-0) started the second game and earned the victory, going 6.0 innings and striking out five, scattering four hits and surrendering four earned runs. She also scored three runs and added one hit and one RBI.
Zoe Deeringer went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run scored.
Barnes had two more hits and scored twice, adding an RBI. McRiley also had a multi-hit game and finished with two RBI.
The Stars play again Monday as they get back to NACC competition, traveling to Lisle, Ill. for a 4 p.m. first pitch at Benedictine. Links to live coverage will be available via dustars.com.
