Softball Sweeps Edgewood, Improves to 8-0 in NACC Play

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's softball program swept Edgewood College on the road on Sunday to stay perfect in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play and move to 21-1 on the season. 
 
The Stars downed the Eagles by scores of 9-5 and 10-3 in games one and two, respectively, combining for 23 hits overall. Dominican is now 21-1 overall and 8-0 in NACC play. 
 
Game One
 
Allyson Dilday (11-1) started and pitched 4.0 innings, giving up just three hits and struck out four. DU scored eight runs in the top of the second and took this lead to the finish line. 
 
Makayla Barnes, Theresa Wilsterman and Delaney McRiley each had multiple hits in the game to lead the offensive effort. Priscylla Rutter, McRiley and Geneva Pollman had two RBI each. Wilsterman, Lavin Catrambone and Zoe Deeringer accounted for the other RBIs for Dominican. 
 
Game Two
 
DU again started early with eight runs in the first four innings and used that early cushion to cruise to victory. Dilday (12-1) earned her second victory of the day while Emma Woodhouse picked up her third save of the season, pitching 3.0 innings in relief. 
 
Barnes had a team-high three hits, extending her hit-streak to 22-straight games. She also scored twice, walked once and had an RBI. Wilsterman had a team-high four RBI, which included a triple and a two-run homer. Rutter had a multi-hit game and scored twice.
 
Dominican takes on Benedictine in Lisle, Ill. on Monday, April 11 at 4 p.m. for a NACC doubleheader. Links to live coverage are available on dustars.com.
