RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's baseball program earned its fifth Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) victory of the season in a doubleheader split with Concordia University Wisconsin on Saturday.
DU took down the Falcons 7-1 in the opener before falling 9-1 in game two.
Game One
Hayden Young (5-1) allowed just four hits and one unearned run while striking out 11. Both sides were held off the scoreboard until the sixth inning, but a five-run seventh for the Stars secured a Dominican win.
Grayson Downing and
Brandon Diedrich each had two hits and a run scored.
CJ Kalekas went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
Matt Galdi had two RBI with a run scored. Garret Wano and
Keegan Brandt each provided an RBI.
Game Two
CUW got on the board early with six runs in the first four innings. DU had nine hits, but managed just one run, falling 9-1.
Kalekas had three more hits while Wano added two.
Jake Polonus drove in the Stars' lone run.
