RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's softball program was swept by Lakeland University in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Monday evening.

DU mounted a comeback in the first game, but ultimately fell 7-4. The Stars were defeated via a run-rule victory in five innings, 10-0, in the second game.

Game One

Lakeland started off the game with a run in the first and added six more by the end of the sixth inning to take a commanding 7-0 lead. DU fought back with four runs in the bottom of the sixth, but the Muskies held the Stars off the scoreboard in their final at-bat to secure the win.

Allyson Dilday (13-4) pitched a complete game, striking out eight while allowing seven runs, three earned, and nine hits. Kennedy Marvin led the offensive effort with a 3-for-3 performance, scoring once and adding two RBI. Geneva Pollman and Megan Hufnagle also had two hits each. Makayla Barnes and Hufnagle drove in Dominican's two other runs.

Game Two

The Muskies continued their hot starts with seven runs in the first four innings. LU tacked on three more in the fifth and kept Dominican from scoring to secure the run-rule victory in five innings.

Emma Woodhouse (7-2) pitched 3.0 innings and struck out two batters while allowing six runs, four earned, and walking five. DU managed just four hits in the game as Delaney McRiley, Theresa Wilsterman, Barnes and Woodhouse each accounted for one.
