RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's softball team suffered an 9-1 defeat to Concordia University Chicago on Thursday in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play.
DU earned a split of the season series, winning 5-3 over the Cougars on Friday, April 15 before Thursday's defeat.
Theresa Wilsterman drove in
Geneva Pollman to even the score at 1-all after DU's half of the third. CUC responded with eight runs over the final five frames to secure the run-rule victory in six innings.
Wilsterman had two hits while Pollman,
Kailey Kirkwood and
Delaney McRiley each accounted for one hit.
Allyson Dilday (13-5) took the loss in 3.0 innings, allowing four runs while striking out four.
