RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's softball program was swept by Rockford University in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) action on Tuesday night.
Game One
Dominican jumped out to a 3-0 advantage and led 4-2 going into the seventh inning. The Regents, however, pushed across five runs in the top of the seventh and secured the come-from-behind victory, holding the Stars scoreless in the bottom half.
Theresa Wilsterman and Lilliana Santoyo both had two hits each to led the offensive effort.
Kailey Kirkwood had a team-high two RBI while
Priscylla Rutter and
Delaney McRiley chipped in one RBI each.
Allyson Dilday (13-6) suffered the loss, going 7.0 innings and scattering seven hits while allowing seven runs, two earned, and striking out nine.
Game Two
DU got out to a 1-0 lead early and maintained that advantage for the first four innings. Rockford had the final say with six runs in the final 3.0 innings to claim the 6-1 win.
Emma Woodhouse (9-3) took the loss in 4.0 innings, striking out four while allowing four runs on three hits.
Geneva Pollman, Santoyo, Wilsterman and Woodhouse each had one hit.
