RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's baseball program began its Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) campaign with two victories over Wisconsin Lutheran on Sunday at Kapco Park.   
 
DU defeated the Warriors in its first NACC series of 2022 by scores of 5-1 and 10-3, respectively.  
 
Game One
 
Hayden Young (4-0) pitched a complete-game, striking out seven while scattering eight hits and giving up just one earned run. Dominican scored in the first, but WLC tied it in the third at 1-all. Grayson Downing drove in two runs with a single in the ninth, part of a four-run ninth inning. 
 
Downing scored twice and had two RBI, adding a walk in four plate appearances. Matt Galdi was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a walk. Dominic Desch went 2-for-3. 
 
Game Two
 
Dominican started quickly in the second game, racking up five runs in the first three innings. The Stars added four more runs as the game progressed, cruising to a 10-3 win. 
 
Garrett Wano was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI. Matt Galdi went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, two walks and an RBI. Keegan Brandt had a team-high three RBI, including a two-RBI double in the third. Desch also had two RBI, opening the scoring with a double in the first.
