Softball Stays Perfect in Conference Play with Sweep of Wisconsin Lutheran

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's softball program maintained its unblemished mark in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on Sunday, sweeping Wisconsin Lutheran at the Ballpark at Rosemont. 
 
DU moves to 19-1 overall, its best start in program history, and sports a 6-0 record in the NACC. The Stars won game one 8-3 followed by a 9-1 mercy-rule victory in game two. 
 
Game One
 
Allyson Dilday (10-1) pitched a complete game and finished with seven strikeouts, allowing just five hits and one earned run. Dominican built an early lead with a five-run second, but WLC pulled within two after a three-run fourth. Theresa Wilsterman gave the Stars some insurance in the sixth, however, with her third homer of the season, launching a three-run shot over the left field wall.
 
Priscylla Rutter went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. Wilsterman had two hits, a run scored and three RBI. Kailey Kirkwood also was 3-for-3 with a run scored. Makayla Barnes scored two and had two hits with two RBI. Delaney McRiley had two hits and run scored, going 2-for-4.
 
Game Two
 
Emma Woodhouse (6-0) and Geneva Pollman combined for the victory as DU staked its staff to a 6-0 lead after one. Dominican finished off the mercy-rule 9-1 win in the sixth. 
 
Pollman pitched well, going 4.0 innings and striking out three while surrendering just one earned run. She also contributed two hits and a run scored at the dish. Wilsterman had two more RBI and a run scored. Lilliana Santoyo was 2-for-2 with three RBI. Kirkwood, Rutter and Barnes eached had one hit and one RBI.
