Bloomington, Ill. - The Dominican Stars women's soccer team fell 3-2 against Wisconsin-La Crosse in Bloomington, IL on Saturday.
After falling behind 2-0 after the first half, the Stars were able to rally back outscoring UWL 2-1 in the second half but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit. Freshman
Mia Taullahu scored her third goal of the season in the 65th minute with an assist from Freshman
Sierra Rioux. UWL quickly responded to bring their lead back to two goals in the 71st minute. Senior
Regan Coxon's goal narrowed that deficit in the 86th minute off of an assist by Freshman
Natalia Lopez but the Stars ran out of time to come all the way back.
The loss is the first of the season for the Dominican and their record falls to 1-1-2. Luckily for the Stars, they are right back into a game tomorrow morning as they hope to leave their weekend trip to Bloomington with a split. The Stars play Wartburg College at 2:00 p.m.
