River Forest, Ill - The Dominican University women's volleyball team swept Rockford University 3-0 in their home opener.
The Stars and Regents played back and forth with each for the entire first set before Dominican took the lead late and never gave it backing winning the first set 25-23. The Stars kept that momentum into the second set where they fought for a 25-21 victory. In the last set Dominican was able to take the lead early and run with it from their as the Stars took the third and final set 25-18.
The Stars were lead by Junior
Cassidy Spies and her 17 kills in the match. Sophomore
Adeleen Dunker helped Spies out with her 20 assists. On the defensive side the Stars were lead by Freshman
Lola Butler with her 21 digs in the game.
After tonights victory the Dominican University women's volleyball team move to 4-3 on the season. Where they are headed to the Manchester University Invitational where they will take on Manchester University and Governors State University on Saturday September 17th.
