North Manchester, IN - The Dominican university women's volleyball team traveled to Manchester University for the Manchester University Invitational. There they took on Manchester University and Governors State University.
In game one of the double header for Dominican University they fell 3-1 to Manchester University. Manchester took the first two sets 25-20 and 25-23. The Stars came back and won the third set 25-19 avoiding the sweep, but ended up losing the fourth set 25-19. Junior
Cassidy Spies lead the team with 10 kills in game one. While Sophomore
Charlotte Hain lead the team with 13 digs.Â
Game two of the double header the Stars fought hard with Governors State but lost in 5 sets. Set one was won by Governors State 25-22, but the stars bounced back in set two and evened up the match with a 25-20 win. Set three and four had the same story Governors State won the third set 25-17 and the Stars coming back to win the fourth set 25-19. In set five it was evenly matched but the Stars fell just short losing 15-13. Spies has continued her momentum with 17 kills in game two. Junior
Emily Schellhase followed with 10 kills, while Freshman
Lola Butler led the team with 20 digs.Â
