Chicago, Ill. - The Dominican University men's basketball team started 2023 on the road against conference opponent IIT.

How it Happened:
-In the first half, Dominican only shot 37% from the field, while allowing IIT to shoot 60%.
-Going into the half, IIT led 45-32.Â
-Dominican's offense struggled in the second half, shooting 28% from the field and 9% from three.
-DU did a good job taking caring of the ball with just 7 turnovers.
-Dominican's defense kept the Vikings to just 39% from the field and 25% from three in the second half.
-The Stars did win the bench points battle 30-14.Â

Lathan Lewis, junior
Robert Taylor, and sophomore
Daniel Nennig combining for 27.

Camron Scott defended the paint the best for the Stars.
