River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's volleyball team hosted Illinois Tech on Tuesday.

DU: 2
How it Happened:
-Dominican got off to a strong start in the first set with a team-high 14 kills and won 25-21.
-DU fought back in the second set but their comeback fell a bit short as they lost 25-23.
-The Stars had 7 errors in the set to the Scarlet Hawks' 4.
-Dominican lost their momentum in the third set and couldn't overcome 15 kills from IIT.
-DU lost the third set 25-19.
-The Stars by far had their best set in the fourth as they dominated and had just a lone error en route to a 25-19 set victory.
-Dominican got off to a 7-0 lead in the fifth and final set, but Illinois Tech had the answer as they finished off DU 15-12.
Shining Stars:
-Junior
Cassidy Spies was a force offensively with 19 kills and a career-high 4 aces.
-Junior
Olivia Mendell put up her first 40+ assist match since September 14th and also had 2 aces.
-Sophomore
Ellery Shea had a career-high 9 kills and a season-high 3 blocks.
