Stars Win Final Game at Home

River Forest, Ill.- The Dominican University men's soccer team hosted the sixth seed in the NACC standings this afternoon. 

Results:
Dominican:3
Rockford: 0

How it Happened:
-Dominican and Rockford played a very close first half with every team stat within one or two of each other. 
- DU and RU would go into the half tied at 0. 
-The Stars offense came to life in the second half when they get on the board in the 60th minute of the game. Sophomore Ryan Gutierrez scores his first goal of the year. 
-Dominican added a second 2 minutes later when Junior Oscar Montejano find the back of the goal, with the assist from his brother Grad Student Austin Montejano
-DU made it 3-0 in the 78th minute of the game when Freshman Yael Gonzalez scores from outside the box, for his first collegiate goal. 
-Dominican would end the game with 25 total shots, 11 of them being on target and 15 total corner kicks. 

Shining Stars:
-Junior Oscar Montejano led the Stars on the offense side of the ball by having 6 total shots, 4 of them being on target and finding the back of the net. 
-Freshman Ciaran Geraghty was all over the field having 4 total shots and an assist. 
-Sophomore Ryan Gutierrez had 2 total shots both of them on target. 1 goal and 1 assists on the afternoon. 
-Freshman Yael Gonzalez only played 35 minutes of the match but made an impact by scoring on his only shot attempt of the afternoon. 
-Sophomore Oscar Cerritos made 3 saves in his shutout.

What's Next:
Dominican University will be back in action Saturday afternoon, when they travel to the 7th seed Falcons of Concordia Wisconsin. Kick-off will be at 3:30 p.m.
