River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University men's basketball team hosted Eureka College on Saturday for their home-opener.

Eureka: 81
Dominican: 89
How it Happened:
-The Stars had a very strong first half as they fed off the crowd's energy.
-Dominican shot an impressive 55 percent from the field and made all 7 of their free throws in the period.
-The Stars were able to get up 33 shots in the period compared to Eureka's 26.
-DU led 44-30 at halftime.
-Dominican found their range from deep in the second half as they improved their percentage from 11 to 45.
-The Stars were incredibly efficient making 19 of their 31 second-half attempts.
-DU defeated Eureka for their first win of the season with a final score of 89-81.
Shining Stars:
-Sophomore
Joshua West had a great scoring output and shot the ball efficiently making 10 of 16 shots.
-Senior
Jacob Riedl did a little of everything as he led the team in rebounding, blocks, and assists.
-Junior
Terrell Taylor couldn't be stopped as he made all 8 shots he put up off the bench.
