River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican women's basketball team hosted Elmhurst University on Tuesday.

Results:
Elmhurst: 90
Dominican: 42

How it Happened:
-The Stars had a strong first quarter. They scored a team-high 15 points in the period and allowed a game-low 17 from Elmhurst.
-Dominican made 6 of their 12 shots in the quarter and also made all three free-throws they attempted.
-DU struggled to maintain that offensive efficiency in the second quarter and their production dropped to just 8 points in the period compared to Elmhurst's 28.
-The Stars went into halftime down 45-23.
-Dominican had a rough third quarter from the free throw line as they made just 3 of 8 attempts.
-DU made their only three in the final period of play but they couldn't overcome 33 turnovers and lost 90-42.


Shining Stars:
-Sophomore Mariangely Velez came off the bench and impacted the game scoring and rebounding.
-Junior Kamryn Woods had solid production off the bench as well as she was in double figures.
-Junior Ashley Green made an impact off the bench as well as she led the team in rebounding.

Dominican University women's basketball team will be back in action Saturday as they host Monmouth College at 2:00 p.m.
