River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University men's basketball team hosted Beloit College on Wednesday for their final contest of 2023.
Results:
Beloit: 68
DU: 67
How it Happened:
-Dominican started off the game a little slow offensively.
-DU made just 32 percent of their shots in the first half compared to Beloit's 41 percent.
-The Stars did do a nice job once again at the free throw line as they made all 8 attempts.
-Dominican trailed 33-29 at half.
-DU had a strong effort out of halftime to gain the lead and they led for a significant portion of the half.
-The Stars got hot from deep making 4 threes in the period.
-Dominican also improved their shooting by 12 percent in the half.
-DU missed a shot at the buzzer that would have won the game and they fell 68-67.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Jacob Riedl had one of his better shooting nights as he made 4 of 6 three point attempts and led the Stars in scoring, rebounding, and steals.
-Sophomore
Joshua West had a rare off shooting day but made up for it with the little things as he led the team in minutes, assists, blocks, and steals.
-Junior
Terrell Taylor did a great job giving the Stars a spark off the bench as he scored 16 points and made 8 of 9 free throws.
