River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University men's basketball team hosted Benedictine University on Wednesday.
Results:
Ben U: 77
DU: 74
How it Happened:
-The Stars were neck and neck with Benedictine all throughout the first half.
-DU shot 44 percent from the field in the half compared to Ben U's 47 percent.
-Dominican made one more three than Benedictine and DU went into halftime up 37-35.
-The Stars struggled out of halftime and the Eagles were able to extend a lead to as many as 11.
-Dominican fought back in the final minutes of the game and had two three point shots that would have tied or won the game.
-DU just couldn't get the last basket to drop and they fell 77-74.
Shining Stars:
-Sophomore
Joshua West was on fire especially in the first half. He stuffed the stat sheet with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals.
-Junior
Daniel Nennig had a solid performance doing the little things with 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 three-pointers.
-Junior
Camron Scott came off the bench and made his presence defensively with 2 steals and 2 massive blocks.
