Madison, Wis. - The Dominican University baseball team went on the road Monday afternoon to play a double header against conference opponent Edgewood College.
Game 1 Results:
Edgewood: 9

How it Happened:
-Stars got on the board first with a single by Senior
Jake Polonus driving in a run.
-DU's lead did not last long as the first batter for Edgewood his a homerun to center field.
-Edgewood had a huge second inning by scoring five runs on six hits.
-Dominican cut into the lead in the top of the seventh by scoring two runs. One run on a single by Freshman
John Tormey, and the second on a sacrafice fly by Junior
Matt Galdi.
The Eagles strike right back by scoring three runs on three hits getting the lead to six.
-DU had one player with three hits and three players with three hits.
Shining Stars:
-Freshman
John Tormey led the Stars going 3-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
-Senior
Jake Polonus went 2-3 and an RBI

How it Happened:
-Dominican took the lead in the top of the first with a single by Senior
Garrett Wano.
-Stars extended their lead in the top of the second by a two run single by Junior
Grayson Downing.
-Edgewood chipped into the lead by scoring two runs on three hits.
-DU brought the lead back to three by Wano hitting a two run homerun. His fourth on the year.
-The Eagles got a run back in the bottom of the fifth scoring a run on three hits.
-Edgewood got the deficit to one by scoring a run on two hits.
-The Eagles tied it up in the seventh inning by scoring a run on two hits.
-Edgewood walked off in the bottom of ninth with one run two hits.
Shining Stars:

Garrett Wano had a big game going 3-5 with 3 RBI's
-Junior
Grayson Downing went 2-5 with an RBI
