Stars Split on the Road

Fond Du Lac, Wis.. - The Dominican University softball team went on the road to Marian University Tuesday afternoon. 

Game 1 Results:
Marian:4
Dominican:3 

How it Happened:
-Dominican struck first in the top of the second inning by a RBI single off the bat of Senior Geneva Pollman. 
-DU added a run to their lead in the third by a RBI single off the bat of Senior Makayla Barnes. 
-The Sabres tied the game up at two in the fifth inning with two runs on four hits. 
-Stars took the lead in the top of the seventh with an RBI single by Sophomore Emma Woodhouse. 
-Marian walked off the Dominican in the bottom of the seventh by scoring two runs on four hits. 

Shining Stars:
-Junior Theresa Wilsterman led the Stars going 2-3 and scoring two runs. 
- Junior Kayla Faber-Cournane went 6.2 with 3 strikeouts. 

Leading the Way:

RBI: Pollman, Barnes, Woodhouse (1)

Game 2 Results:
Dominican: 9
Marian: 0 

How it Happened:
-Dominican gained the lead and did not give it back. Stars took the lead in the top of third by an error Marian off the bat of Junior Delaney McRiley scoring two. 
-DU had a big fourth inning scoring six runs on six hits. Senior Giselle Castaneda had a two run RBI single. Barnes had a two run RBI single, and Senior Kailey Kirkwood chipped in with a two RBI double. 
-Dominican added one more run in the fifth by a Pollman triple. 

Shining Stars:
-Barnes led the Stars in game two going 2-4 delivering two RBI's and scoring two runs. 
-Kirkwood went 1-3 and driving in two runs. 
-Dominican had five players with two hits. Barnes, Pollman, Wilsterman, Davis, Woodhouse. 
-Woodhouse pitched 5 innings allowing three hits and four strikeouts.
