Montgomery, Ill - The Dominican University softball team played against #6 Marian in the 2023 NACC Softball Tournament.

Results:

Dominican: 2

How it Happened:
-DU was led by sophomore Emma Woodhouse who took the circle and only allowed 1 run in 5 innings.
-Marian got on the board first in the top of the sixth with a run scoring off a wild pitch.
-Senior Kailey Kirkwood answered in the bottom half to tie the game with an RBI single.
-Junior Kayla Faber-Cournane pitched in relief didn't allow a run over the last 3 innings.
-The Stars walked it off in the 8th when a throwing error allowed senior Geneva Pollman to show off her speed and score the winning run.

Shining Stars:
-Senior Delaney McRiley was the only Stars player to reach 3 times.
-Kirkwood drove in the lone RBI for DU.
-Woodhouse and Faber-Cournane had strong outings to keep the Sabres to just 1 run scored.
