River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's volleyball team hosted Benedictine University on Thursday.

How it Happened:
-Dominican struggled to get going in the first set.
-The Stars had just 8 kills which was their lowest total in the match.
-DU lost the first set 25-18.
-Dominican had a cleaner second set with just 3 errors.
-The Stars couldn't overcome the Eagles' 14 kills and lost 25-19.
-DU came to life in the third set tallying 11 kills and just 4 errors.
-Benedictine had just 7 kills with 7 errors and Dominican won the third set 25-19.
-The Stars couldn't carry the momentum into the fourth set and had a match-high 6 errors.
-Ben U rallied behind 14 kills and defeated DU 25-22.

Cassidy Spies had a solid match and led DU in kills.

Olivia Mendell contributed both offensively and defensively leading the team in assists and digs.
-Senior
Emily Schellhase stuffed the stat sheet with 7 kills, 2 blocks, 11 digs, and an assist.

What's Next:
The Dominican University women's volleyball team will travel to Lake Forest for two matches on Saturday. The first will be against Lake Forest College at 11:00 a.m. and the second will be at 1:00 p.m. against the University of Dubuque.
