River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University men's volleyball team hosted #3 North Central College on Thursday. This was the home opening match for DU.

How it Happened:
-Dominican came to play with a ton of energy and that was apparent in the first set.
-The Stars played an almost flawless first set with 15 kills and just 1 error.
-DU won the first set handily 25-17.
-Dominican had to fight for the second set as it went into a tie-breaker.
-The Stars had 16 kills compared to NCC's 14 and it was enough to give DU a narrow 27-25 second-set victory.
-Dominican fell behind early in the third set but rode the momentum of the crowd and their teammates to come back.
-The Stars once again had 16 kills and they finished off the national runner-ups from a season ago with a third-set victory 25-20.
Shining Stars:
-SeniorÂ
Jarod Hesse was all over the floor tonight with a career-high 16 kills while contributing 4 blocks as well.
-Junior
Owen Morrow set up his teammates perfectly all night and had 34 assists to show for it.
-Sophomore
Michael Greco was dominant at the net with 4 key blocks.
