Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Stars Roll at Home

River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University women's soccer team was back home on Saturday afternoon to take on the Sabres of Marian University.

 Results:
 Dominican: 5
 Marian: 0

 How it Happened:
 -Dominican wasted no time setting the tempo of the match, as Sophomore Meghan Wilhite fired home a feed from Freshman Tia Garr in the 4th minute to give the Stars a 1-0 lead.
 -Junior Sarah Borsellino would cap off a great individual effort from the penalty spot to extend the lead to 2-0.  
 -At the half, the Stars would lead 2-0 while outshooting Marian 8-3. 
 -In the 48th minute, Wilhite would collect her 2nd of the afternoon off of an assist from Junior Natalia Lopez to extend the lead to 3-0.
 -Graduate Student Regan Coxon would join in on the goal-scoring in the 72nd minute. Assists were awarded to Junior Mia Taullahu and Graduate Student Grace Larson. 4-0 Stars.
-Freshman Ariana Barney would add the exclamation point on the afternoon after firing home a shot set up by Coxon and Larson in the 78th minute.
 -The Stars would preserve the clean sheet and see out the 5-0 result.
 -DU would have 22 total shots, with 13 of them on target.


 Shining Stars:
 -Sophomore Meghan Wilhite scored a brace in the contest, slotting home her first 2 goals of the season.
 -Graduate Student Regan Coxon put away her 7th goal of the season and collected an assist in the effort.
 -Graduate Student Grace Larson notched 2 assists and 6 shots.
 -Junior Sarah Borsellino fired one home from the penalty after winning the penalty with some nifty dribbling in the box.
 -Freshman Ariana Barney scored her 5th goal of the season on her lone shot.
 -Freshman Tia Garr recorded an assist in the outing.
 -Junior Natalia Lopez tallied her 4th assist on the campaign.
-Graduate Student Sarah Grimmett had 2 saves in the victory.
