River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University women's volleyball team hosted Division Street rivals Thursday evening in a important NACC conference matchup.

How it Happened:
-Dominican bounced back from the loss on Tuesday night in big fashion, winning the first set 25-19. The Stars had 11 kills in the set.
-Senior
Tanya De La Riva got going early earning 4 kills in the first set.
-DU kept the momentum up winning the second set 25-23 and 14 total kills in the set.
-Dominican had three players with 3 kills in the set. Sophomore
Rubie Morrissette and Seniors
Melissa Schmidt and
Mia Febles.
-DU dropped the third set in the match losing 25-19. The Stars had their lowest amount of kills with 10 and could not overcome 8 attacking errors.
-Even though Dominican lost the set, they were able to keep Febles and Schmidt rolling in the kills department. Febles had 4 and Schmidt had 3.
-The Stars did not miss a beat and bounced right back winning the fourth set 25-20. DU collected game high 16 kills in the set and only had 4 attacking errors.
-Junior
Veronica Henkel was the close for Dominican having 3 kills in the set.
-The Stars put up 4 services aces as a team in the fourth set.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Melissa Schmidt was spectacular in every part of the match. Leading the team in Kills with 13, being tied with the most assists and service aces with 19 assists and 2 services aces. Schmidt also had a block and 5 digs.
-Senior
Mia Febles had 12 kills, 2 service aces and 7 digs on the night.
-Senior
Tanya De La Riva had 12 kills, 3 blocks, a service ace and 3 digs.
-Sophomore
Rubie Morrissette had 5 kills and 2 digs in the match.
-Senior
Charlotte Hain led the team in the digs with 9 of them. Hain also chipped in with a service ace.
-Junior
Ellery Shea stood tall at the net with 7 total blocks on the night.
-Senior
Adeleen Dunker had 19 assists and 8 digs in the match.

What's Next:
The Dominican University women's volleyball team will be right back in the Igini Sports Forum Saturday afternoon as they host the Warriors of Wisconsin Lutheran. First-serve will be at 12:00 pm and the Stars are having a PINK OUT so everyone wear PINK!!
