River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University women's volleyball team hosted the Warriors of Wisconsin Lutheran College for the second straight big-time matchup in the NACC.

How it Happened:
-Dominican starts off getting the upper hand in the match with a 25-16 win in the first set. The Stars had 10 total kills in the set.
-Senior
Tanya De La Riva got going early earning 4 kills in the first set.
-Wisconsin Lutheran bounced back right away with a set two victory of 25-15. DU had only 7 kills in the set and could not overcome 5 attacking errors.
-Even though Dominican lost the set Senior
Mia Febles led the team with 3 kills in the set.
-The Stars did not take long to regroup, winning the third set 25-19. DU collected team high 13 kills in the set and cleaned up the errors with only 3 of them.
-Senior
Melissa Schmidt found her grove in the 3
rd set collecting 6 kills and a service ace.
-Dominican had an opportunity to close the match out with a set victory and they did not disappoint. The Stars won the final set 25-21 and collected 10 total kills in the set.
-DU had three players with 2 kills in the set. These players being Juniors
Veronica Henkel and
Ellery Shea and De La Riva.
-The Stars put up 4 services aces as a team in the fourth set.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Melissa Schmidt has continued to impress leading the team in kills with 10, digs with 16, assists with 18 and being tied for the lead with blocks with 1 of them. Schmidt also had 2 service aces in the match.
-Senior
Tanya De La Riva had 9 kills and 8 digs in the match.
-Junior
Veronica Henkel came off the bench in big-time fashion collected 5 kills, 5 digs and a solo block.
-Sophomore
Rubie Morrissette had 5 kills and 2 digs in the match.
-Junior
Lola Butler led the team with 4 service aces.
-Senior
Charlotte Hain had 9 digs, 2 assists and a service ace.

What's Next:
The Dominican University women's volleyball team will have a small break not playing their next game until Thursday October 24
th. The Stars will go on the road for a date with the Scarlet Hawks of Illinois Tech. This being another matchup with Conference Tournament implications in the NACC, with Dominican currently the 7
th seed and Illinois Tech currently the 8
th seed. First serve between DU and IIT will be at 7:00pm.
