Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Stars Stay Undefeated in NACC

River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University women's soccer team hosted the Muskies of Lakeland University on Wednesday afternoon. With the Stars looking to stay undefeated in conference play.

Results:
Dominican: 5
Lakeland: 0

How it Happened:
-Dominican came out the gate hot scoring the first goal of the game in the 5th minute of the game. With Graduate Student Regan Coxon scoring.
-The Stars kept the pressure up and found their second goal of the half. When Freshman Ariana Barney scoring in the 36th minute of the game.   
-Just four minutes after DU added a third goal. With Barney scoring her second of the game. On a rebound opportunity.   
-The Stars would lead going into the half to a score of 3-0. With Dominican collecting 18 total shots in the half.
-DU once again found an early goal in the half. One minute into the half to be excat. With Coxon scoring her second goal of the afternoon. -The Stars did not let up with a 4-0 lead. Extending to a 5-0 lead with Junior Sarah Matuszek scoring her first goal of the season, in the 52nd minute of the game.
-The Stars would fire off 15 total shots in the second half, but not able to find the back of the net after two early goals.
-DU would have 33 total shots, with 20 of them on the target.


Shining Stars:
-Fifth Year Student Regan Coxon added two more goals to her season total. Coxon had 6 total shots in the match with 4 of them on the target.  
-Freshman Ariana Barney came off the bench for Dominican and collected two goals on 3 total shots. Barney played a total of 41 minutes.
-Junior Sarah Matuszek found the back of the net and all collected an assist. Matuszek had 5 total shots in the match, 2 of them were on goal.
-Sophomore Mackenzie Cuddihy earned an assist.
-Senior Ashley Hoffner recorded an assist.  
-Freshman Tia Garr recorded an assist off the bench for the Stars. Garr also recorded 3 shots and 2 of them were on the target.
-Senior Natalia Lopez had 5 shots and 2 of them were on the target.

What's Next:
The Dominican University women's soccer team will be back in action Saturday afternoon for a pivotal matchup within the NACC. The Stars will travel to MSOE for a face-off against the Raiders. Kick-off will be at 3:30pm.
