River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University men's soccer team concluded their regular season campaign at home against the Cougars of Concordia University Chicago.

How it Happened:
 -The Stars would strike quickly in the 7
th minute thanks to a well-placed header from Senior
Dylan Alic. Alic was able to fight for positioning and get on the end of a cross from 5
th-year Student
Oleksandr Melnyk, who was played in by Senior
Ryan Gutierrez.
 -In the 18
th minute, CUC would knot the score at 1.
 -Dominican would surge to a 2-1 lead in the 21
st minute as Melnyk turned home a beautiful setup from Senior
John Cronnolly.
 -DU would take the 2-1 lead into the break, leading in shots 9 to 6.
 -Junior
Paul Urban would slot home the Stars' 3
rd goal of the afternoon in the 54
th minute.
 -Urban was not satisfied yet, as he would turn home another goal just a few minutes later after staring down a yawning cage thanks to a gorgeous feed from Melnyk.
 -Dominican then extended their lead to 5-1 through a calm finish from Cronnolly, who was played in by 5
th-year Student
Zach Gamster.
 -Gamster would have a run on goal where he made no mistake making the score 6-1 in favor of DU. Senior
Jordan Corrieri picked up the helper on the play.
 -In the 85
th minute, Sophomore
Nico Leon joined in on the goal-scoring after turning home a cross from Freshman
Travis Fowler.
 -The final score of the match would read 7-1 in favor of DU. Dominican finished the match with 21 total shots with 15 of them finding the target.

 Dominican Men's Soccer finished the 2024 Regular Season with a conference record of 8-1-3 and an overall record of 11-4-4. The Stars finished 2
nd in the NACC standings, which means they will host the quarterfinal match against Concordia University Wisconsin. The two sides could not come up with a winner as the score was 1-1 in their previous contest this season. Kick-off at West Campus Field for the quarterfinal will be at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3
rd.
