Stars Fall in Tightly Contested Battle

River Forest, Ill.- The Dominican University men's basketball team squared up against Kalamazoo College on Saturday afternoon.

Results:
Dominican: 73
Kalamazoo: 76

How it Happened:
-The Stars would start slow defensively, allowing 23 points to the Hornets in the first 10 minutes.
-Senior Quante May would knock down a 3 to ignite the Dominican bench and trimmed the Hornet lead to 23-14 with 9 minutes to play in the first half.
-Some strong play from Senior Daniel Nennig and Senior Terrell Taylor would have DU down 39-33 by the end of the first half.
-Nennig and 5th-year Student Camron Scott connected on an alley-oop in the opening moments of 2nd half as Dominican would take a 45-37 lead.
-Graduate Student Robbie Taylor would add a couple of lay-ups during the back half of the second half.
-Scott would slam home an assist from T. Taylor, retaking the lead for the Stars with 1:42 remaining.
-Kalamazoo would regain the lead and hold it as they closed out a 76-73 victory.
-Dominican finished 30-63 from the field for 47.6% and 7-24 for 29.2% from 3-point range in the defeat.

Shining Stars:
-Senior Terrell Taylor paced the Stars with 18 points and contributed 2 rebounds and 3 assists.  
-Senior Camron Scott finished the afternoon with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
-Graduate Student Robbie Taylor collected 11 points and added 4 rebounds.
-Senior Daniel Nennig played a strong game, dropping 11 points and dished 5 assists.

What's Next:
The Dominican University men's basketball team will finish their 3 game home stand against Greenville University on Tuesday, November 19th. It will be Guess the Final Score Night in the Igini Sports Forum, and tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
