Stars Fall Short on Home Court

River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's basketball team came back to the Igini Sports Forum after their win to host North Park University on Wednesday night.

 Results:
North Park: 70
Dominican: 49

 How it Happened:
-Dominican found themselves down 15-10 after the first quarter, but stormed back after being down 9-0 to start the game.
 -Junior Niah Williams started the Dominican run with 4 points in the first quarter.
 -The Stars won the second quarter, cutting the deficit to just two points going into the break. DU shot a fantastic 41% from the floor in the quarter.
-Sophomore Lia Saunders found her shot in the second, scoring 5 points.
-The halftime score was 25-23 in favor of NPU.
-The Stars started slow in the second half, and the Vikings found their stride, pulling ahead to a 48-37 lead at the end of the third.
-Freshman Chenoa Moss had 4 points in the quarter.
-Dominican tried to comeback but were unable to do so with only shooting 25% in the fourth.
-Sophomore Kaitlyn Milison was able to get into a groove after some early foul trouble, scoring 5 points in the quarter.

 Shining Stars:
 -Freshman Chenoa Moss led the team with 12 points.
-Sophomore Lia Saunders had 11 points and 6 rebounds. Saunders went 7 for 7 from the charity stripe.
 -Graduate Student Melissa Gomez was all over the boards collecting 7 of them. Gomez also, collected 5 points in the game.
 -Junior Kamila Gajkowska also collected 7 boards and made her only 3-point shot of the night.  
-Sophomore Aya Deiri was tied for the team high in assists with 3 of them. Deiri also collected 4 points tonight.

 Points: Moss (12)
 Rebounds: Gomez and Gajkowska (7)
 Assists: Deiri and Moss (3)
 Steals: Washington and Gajkowska (2)
 Blocks: Williams  (1)
 Minutes: Saunders (35)

 What's Next:
 Dominican University women's basketball team will travel to Kalamazoo College on Saturday, November 23rd, for a game against the Hornets. Tip-off between DU and KC will be at 12:00pm CT.
