River Forest, Ill.- The Dominican University men's basketball team hosted the Prairie Fire of Knox College in their season opener on Friday night.

How it Happened:
-Dominican and Knox battled back-and-fourth for the first 6 minutes of the game with the largest lead being 15-8 after Senior
Quante May drills a three point shot.
-The Prairie Fire did not go away though, tying the game up at 26 with 3 minutes left to go in the first half. Â
-DU went into halftime down 31-30, despite only shooting 23% from the floor. The Stars made up for the lack of field goal percentage by going 80% from the charity stripe.
-Dominican and Knox continued to battle it out to start the second half with both teams trading buckets.
-The Stars were able to break the game open to a six point Dominican lead when Senior
Daniel Nennig makes a fast break layup.
-Senior
Andre Bennett put Du up 9 after hitting a three with 5 minutes left. This making the score 67-59.
-Once again Knox clawed their way back into the game cutting the Dominican lead to just 4. Â
-Nennig and the Stars put the game away after Nennig hit two clutch free throws. Followed by Bennett hitting two more free throws to make the score 78-73.
-Senior
Terrell Taylor made the final bucket of the game off a steal and fast break layup. Â
-Dominican shot an incredible 23-27 from the free throw line.

-Senior
Terrell Taylor led the Stars in points with 15 of them. T. Taylor went 6 for 6 from the free throw line. Terrell grabbed 6 rebounds and 3 steals in the game. Â
-Senior
Andre Bennett came off the bench for the Stars and finished with 14 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Bennett went 4 for 4 from the charity stripe. Â

th Year Student
Camron Scott collected a double-double scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Scott also led the team in blocks with 3 of them.
-Senior Danny Nennig collected 9 points in the game and went 7-8 from the free throw line. Danny also picked up 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Â
