Slow Start Too Much to Overcome for DU

Adrian, Mic.- The Dominican University men's basketball team was on the road at Adrian College for their penultimate non-conference game of the 2024-25 season.

  Results:
 Adrian: 79
 Dominican: 71


  How it Happened:
  -Adrian would jump out to a quick 6-1 lead before Freshman Lucas Underwood hit Dominican's first three of the contest.
  -DU struggled defensively to start the game and was down 17-10 before 5th-year Student Camron Scott could slam home a play in transition.
  -By the end of the 1st half, the Stars would find themselves in a 47-29 hole. DU shot 44.44% from beyond the arc in the 1st.
  -A stretch of a pair of free throws from Senior Terrell Taylor and a three from Senior Quante May early in the 2nd half sparked Dominican in their effort to cut down the Adrian lead.
  -T. Taylor would make back-to-back layups with 14 minutes remaining in the 2nd half to trim the Adrian lead to 10. The score read 54-44.
  -Both sides would continue to trade buckets, but two free throws from Scott and a fast-break layup from May would have DU only down by 6, 74-68 with 4 minutes left.
  -Another three from Underwood with 1:28 remaining would see the Stars down 3, but Adrian was able to convert their free throws in crunch time.
 -The Stars would ultimately fall by a final of 79-71.
 -Both teams shot the ball well from the field, with Dominican shooting 42.9% from three for the game.

  Shining Stars:
  -Senior Terrell Taylor led the way in scoring for the Stars with 17 points and added 6 rebounds and 2 assists.
  -Freshman Lucas Underwood continues to make the most out of his new starting role, dropping 16 points including 4-10 from three.
  -5th-year student Camron Scott recorded 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks marking his 5th double-double of the campaign.

  What's Next:
