Stars Snap Losing Skid

Appleton, Wis.- The Dominican University men's basketball team was on the road for their final non-conference game of the season against Lawrence University.

   Results:
  Dominican: 85
  Lawrence: 65


   How it Happened:
   -Both teams would be knotted at 8 five minutes into the contest with Graduate Student Robbie Taylor and Senior Terrell Taylor hitting a pair of jumpers each.
   -DU would then jump out to an 18-10 lead after a three from Junior Dominic Crapia and a pair of layups from Sophomore Dean O'Brien.
   -With five minutes left in the 1st half, Lawrence would cut the Dominican lead down to 5, but Senior Daniel Nennig and T. Taylor would connect from three to ultimately stretch the Stars lead to 32-19.
   -Two minutes into the 2nd half, 5th-year Student Camron Scott would slam home an assist from R. Taylor to give DU a 41-27 lead.
   -With 13 minutes remaining, Senior Quante May hit a three to extend the Star lead to 23.
   -T. Taylor, Scott, and R. Taylor continued to dominate in the paint as Dominican would keep Lawrence at bay down the stretch.
  -The Stars would pick up the win by a final of 85-65.
  -DU finished with a great shooting performance, posting 58.3% from the field, 40% from three, and 87.5% from the line. The Stars also received 30 points from off the bench.

   Shining Stars:
   -Senior Terrell Taylor paced the Stars with 23 points. T. Taylor also had 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals.
   -Graduate Student Robbie Taylor finished the afternoon with 15 points, 2 rebounds, a block, and a steal.
   -Senior Daniel Nennig tallied 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.
-5th-year Student Camron Scott notched his 100th career block in the win. He also added 7 points, 11 rebounds, and had 4 total blocks.

   What's Next:
   The Dominican University men's basketball team improves to 3-8 on the season while maintaining an 0-4 record in conference play. DU will kick off the new year with a NACC contest at Edgewood College on Saturday, January 4th. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
