River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University women's basketball team continued their start to NACC play at home against Benedictine University.
Results:
Benedictine: 83
Dominican: 44
How it Happened:
-Sophomore Kaitlyn Milison hit Dominican's first 3 of the game in the 1st minute, tying the game at 3-3.
-Freshman Danielle Washington would end a 9-0 run for the Eagles with a 3 and cut the Benedictine lead to 12-6.
-The 1st quarter would end with a score of 22-8 with the Stars shooting 66.7% from behind the arc.
-Freshman Chenoa Moss would score 4 points for DU in the 2nd, but the Stars would head into halftime down 46-21.
-Dominican would end up at the free throw line for 11 shots but only hit 4 of them in the 3rd. Freshman Elizabeth McCabe would add a pair of free throws made along with an assist.
-The Stars would continue to battle in the 4th, with Junior Lacey Schaffter and Sophomore Aya Deiri picking up buckets.
-The final would read 83-44 in favor of the Eagles. DU finished the game shooting just 25% from the field.
Shining Stars:
-Sophomore Kaitlyn Milison led the way in scoring for DU, racking up 7 points. Milison also added 8 rebounds and 2 steals.
-Freshman Chenoa Moss finished with 6 points, 2 rebounds, a block, and a steal.
-Junior Lacey Shaffter fired off 6 points and had 2 boards.
-Sophomore Aya Deiri had 6 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals off the bench.
-Junior Kamila Gajkowska was a force on the glass, picking up 13 total rebounds.

Dominican University Women's Basketball team will have be back on the road on Thursday, December 12th to face-off against Monmouth College. Tip-off will be at 3:00 p.m.
