Rock Island, Ill.- The Dominican University baseball team traveled to Augustana University for the Augustana Invite. The Stars played Buena Vista for the first game of the invite.

How it Happened:
-The Stars got on the board first with Sophomore
Niko Krecu hitting a sacrifice fly to right field.
-Dominican kept it rolling into the second inning putting up a crooked number. First run came off the bat of Graduate Student
Gabe McCall with an RBI double to right field. Junior
Matt Galdi continue the train with a 2 RBI single to left field.
-DU rolled into a 5 run lead with a sacrifice fly to center field, driving in his second RBI of the day.
-Buena Vista finally got on the board in their half of third scoring 3 runs on 3 hits.
- The Stars answered back quickly scoring 2 runs in the top of the fourth. The first coming off the bat of Sophomore
Zach Helein hitting an RBI single. Gladi tacked on another run with a sacrifice fly.
-The Beavers cut into the Dominican lead by scoring 3 runs on 4 hits.
- Buena Vista took the lead in the 5th scoring 2 runs on 3 hits.
-DU regained the lead in the top of the 7th inning scoring 2 runs. The first run coming off of a walk by the Freshman
Quinton Schwartz. McCall picked up his third RBI of the game on a fielders choice.
-Krecu extended the Dominican lead to 10-8 on a RBI single to right field.
-The Beavers tie up the ball game at 10 scoring 2 runs on 2 hits in the bottom of the 8th inning.
-Buena Vista walked-off the Stars in the bottom of the 9th scoring the winning run on 2 hits.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Matt Galdi led the Stars going 3 for 3 with 3 RBI's and a run scored.
-Sophomore
Zach Helein was right behind going 3 for 3 with 2 walks, an RBI, and 4 runs scored.
-Graduate Student
Gabe McCall picked up 3 RBI's going 1 for 3.
-Freshman
Quinton Schwartz had the best game of his collegiate career going 2 for 3 with 2 walks, an RBI, and a run scored.

The Dominican University Baseball team will remain in Rock Island for the night, and play a double header tomorrow. The first game the Stars will look avenge their loss against Buena Vista at 11:00 a.m. Right after they will face off against Augustana College at 2:00 p.m.
