Stars Win Three Close Sets

Fond du Lac, Wis. - The Dominican University men's volleyball team traveled to Marian University. The Stars looking to stay atop of the NACC standings.

How it Happened:
-Both teams currently in the NACC playoffs, but Marian has not clinched a spot in the postseason. 
-In a must win game arguably for both schools, the first set went the distance and more.The Stars pulled away winning 27-25 with 12 kills on 34 attacking attempts. The Sabres had more kills then DU in this set. 
-The Senior Jarod Hesse was able to pick up 4 kills in this first set. 
-The second set was not easy task either, with another close one. Dominican pulled away late once again with a 25-22 win. The Stars had 15 kills on 30 attacking attempts. 
-Junior Owen Morrow who usually dishes out the assists for DU got some big time kills in the set. Morrow still had 11 assists in the set, but picked up 3 kills in the set. 
-Set three was the exact same story with Dominican winning 25-22, and DU picking up 15 kills in set. 
-Junior Casey Goss was able to get going in the third set, by picking up 5 kills, and 2 services aces. 
-This win is the 3rd straight sweep for Dominican. 

Shining Stars:
-Junior Casey Goss led the Stars with 13 kills, 5 services aces, and 6 digs. 
-Senior Jarod Hesse was right behind with 11 kills, 3 blocks, 4 digs, 1 service aces, and 3 assists. 
-Freshman Ty Geschke had 6 kills. 
-Junior Owen Morrow had 34 assists, 8 digs, and 3 kills. 
-Sophomore Michael Greco had 4 blocks.

What's Next: 
The Dominican University men's volleyball team will be back in the Igini Sports Forum for the final time in the regular season Wednesday night. The Stars will host the division street rivals Concordia University Chicago. Our 2 seniors will be represented before the match, and the match will start at 7:00 p.m.
