Auburndale, Fla.- The Dominican University baseball team played the Thunder of Trine University Saturday morning, for their last contest of the spring break trip. 
Game 1 Results:
Dominican: 5
Trine: 6
How it Happened:
-Dominican and Trine were scoreless until the bottom of the 3
rd, when DU put up 3 runs.  
-Senior 
Matt Galdi got the scoring going with a 2 run single to center field. Sophomore 
Niko Krecu brought in Gladi with an RBI double to deep center field.
-Trine got on the board in the top of the 4
th scoring a run on a hit.  
-The Stars grabbed a pair of runs in their half of the 4
th, with Junior 
Gavin Zappe, and Senior 
Grayson Downing both scoring on wild pitches.
- The Thunder tied up the ball game in the 6
th scoring 4 runs on 4 hits
- Trine took the lead in the top of the 8
th scoring a run on 1 hit. Stars gave up 3 walks in that half of the inning.
- Trine would take a 6-5 lead into the bottom of the 9
th inning. DU would get a runner on, but was unable to get him across.
 
Shining Stars:
-Junior 
CJ Kalekas pitched 6 innings for the Stars and also lead the team in hits, going 3 for 5.
-Senior 
Matt Galdi went 1 for 5 with 2 RBI's and a run scored. 
-Sophomore 
Niko Krecu went 2 for 5 with an RBI
-Senior 
Grayson Downing went 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored

The Dominican University Baseball team spring break trip as come to a close with the team going 6-2. The Stars will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Augustana College to play 3 games in 2 days.
