Louisville, KY. - The Dominican University men's volleyball team earned their 8th American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award with this being their 3rd straight.
A record number of volleyball programs have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT. More than 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs maintained a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the award for their classroom excellence during the recently completed academic year.
Head Coach
Doug Burchett commented on this award by saying, "I am beyond pleased with our team's performance in the classroom this past academic year. The men continue to raise the bar every year and strive to achieve the high academic standards we have set. Within the Dominican Volleyball program, we love to see our student athletes succeed in the classroom, on the court, and in their personal lives.".
The Stars had 12 members with a GPA of 3.5 or higher including one 4.0 by Junior
