River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University women's volleyball team hosted the Beavers of Blackburn College for their home opener.

How it Happened:
-Dominican came out swinging in the first set winning 25-23, and earning 16 kills and only 3 errors in the set.
-Senior
Mia Febles led the Stars in the set earing 8 total kills.
-DU kept their foot on the gas and dominated Blackburn in the second set. The score was 25-13, and Dominican had 14 kills in the set.
-Junior
Ellery Shea was the workhorse in this set earning 5 kills.
-The Stars were able to put away the Beavers in the third and final set winning 25-19, and having to come back from a deficit early in the set.
-Senior
Tanya De La Riva led Dominican to four straight points in the set putting DU up by 4.
-De La Riva and the Stars were able to get the last 3 points of the match and win on an attacking error by Blackburn.

Mia Febles led the Stars collecting 16 kills on 32 attempts. Febles also chipped in with 3 service aces and 13 digs.

Tanya De La Riva finished the match with 14 kills 2 service aces and 13 digs.
-Junior
Ellery Shea found herself with 10 kills on 28 attacks and 2 blocks.
-Senior
Adeleen Dunker led Dominican with 22 assists. Dunker also chipped in with 2 service aces and 8 digs.
