River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University women's volleyball team traveled to Eureka Illinois Friday evening to face-off against the Red Devils of Eureka College.

How it Happened:
-Dominican and Eureka battled it out in the first set with the Stars finding a way to come out on top. Winning the set 28-26. DU earned 11 kills in the set, and was able to overcome 12 attacking errors.
-DU was led by Senior
Tanya De La Riva in the set recording 4 kills, and Junior
Ellery Shea recording 3 kills.
-The second set told a similar story with Dominican winning 27-25 in the set. DU had 14 kills in this set, and lowered the errors to only 3 a game low.
-Dominican had 4 service aces in the set.
-The Stars showed their dominance in the third and final set collecting a game high 17 total kills and winning the set 25-18.
-Junior
Veronica Henkel found her stride in this match and in the third set recording 4 kills in the set.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Tanya De La Riva bounced back for the Stars collecting 15 kills and 8 digs.
-Junior
Veronica Henkel exploded for 7 kills, 2 service aces and 5 digs in her best match of the season.
-Senior
Miriam Guler collected 11 digs and 1 service ace.
-Senior
Adeleen Dunker led Dominican with 20 assists. Dunker also chipped in with 2 service aces and 9 digs.
-Sophomore
Kathryn Ksiezak led the Stars with 2 blocks. Ksiezak collected 5 kills, 2 service aces and 2 digs as well.

What's Next:
The Dominican University women's volleyball team will continue their season on the road Thursday September 19th. As the Stars will travel to Beloit College, first serve will be at 7:00 pm.
