River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's soccer team hosted the Spartans of Aurora University to open up NACC play.

How it Happened:
-The matched started off slow for the two schools with no shots being fired until the 15
th minute of the game. Â Â
-The first shot for DU was not fired until the 42
nd minute of the game. This was by Junior
Natalia Lopez.
-Junior
Kamryn Klinger had the second shot of the game for the Stars that almost found the back of the net. Â
-Aurora and Dominican went into the half all tied at 0 with only 7 total shots by both schools.
-The Stars came out firing on all cylinders in the second half with Lopez getting DU on the board in the 46
th minute with a goal.
-Dominican was not satisfied with just one goal though. Junior
Mia Dosen scored the second goal of the game off of a corner kick.
-DU would total 17 shots in the second half alone.
Shining Stars:
-Junior
Natalia Lopez scored a goal on 5 shots, 3 of them found the target.
-Junior
Mia Dosen found the back of the net on 2 shots.
-Fifth Year Student
Grace Larson recorded an assist off of Dosen's goal from the corner.
-Junior
Mia Taullahu notched her first assist of the season.
-Freshman
Ariana Barney took 2 shots and both were on the target.
-Graduate Student
Sarah Grimmett continued her fantastic season with a clean sheet on 5 saves. Â Â

What's Next:
The Dominican University women's soccer team will now go on the road for two straight away games. The first will be in Bloomington Illinois. When the Stars face off against the Warriors of Illinois Wesleyan University. Kick-off will be at 2:00 pm. On Sunday September 22
