Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Stars Put up a Crooked Number in Second Straight Game

River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University women's soccer team hosted the Green Knights of St. Nobert College Saturday afternoon.

Results:
Dominican: 5
St. Norbert: 2

How it Happened:
-The Stars got the party started scoring in the 9th minute of the game. 5th Year Student Grace Larson put the first DU shot of the game into the back of the net. Senior Katie Norlie earned the assist for the goal.
-The Green Knights were able to even up the score at 1 in the 24th minute of the game.  
-Just three minutes later from the SNC goal, 5th Year Student Regan Coxon gave Dominican the lead again. Junior Sarah Matuszek earned the assist.  
-The Stars would lead going into the half to a score of 2-1. Even though they were outshot 9-7 in the half.
-Dominican came out of the break on the right foot with Coxon earning her second goal of the game off a penalty kick in the 51st minute.
-St. Norbert cut the lead in half, with a goal in the 56th minute of the game. Making the score 3-2.
-DU kept the pressure up though, getting the lead back to 2 goal on Larson burying her second goal of the game.
-The Stars were able to find one more goal on the afternoon with Senior Natalia Lopez getting on the scoresheet. Junior Mia Taullahu earning the assist.


Shining Stars:
-Fifth Year Student Grace Larson notched two goals on 3 total shots in the match.
-Fifth Year Student Regan Coxon collected two goals on her only two shots in the match.
-Junior Natalia Lopez earned herself a goal and an assist in the match. Lopez had 2 shots on target.
-Junior Mia Taullahu had an assist, and two shots in the match.
-Senior Katie Norlie recorded an assist.
-Junior Sarah Matuszek earned an assist in her minutes off the bench.
-Graduate Student Lauren Mark was the anchor of the back line for the Stars, and was able to keep the defense organized through the entirety of the match.
-Freshman Meadow Pratt earned 8 saves in the match. A career high in her young collegiate campaign.

What's Next:
The Dominican University women's soccer team will be back at West Campus Field Wednesday afternoon. The Stars will host the Muskie of Lakeland University. Kick-off will be at 4:00 pm.
