De Pere, Wis. = The Dominican University women's volleyball team played their second double-header in as many days apart of the St. Norbert College Tournament.
Match 1:
Dominican:3
Central:2
How it Happened:
-Dominican came out firing on all cylinders winning the first set 25-19. They had 8 kills and only 3 errors in the set.
-Senior
Tanya De La Riva earned 4 kills and 2 service aces in the set. SeniorÂ
Mia Febles collected 2 kills in the set.
-Central responded quickly though winning the second set 25-17, making the Stars pay for 5 errors.
 -Dominican also bounced back and won the third set in a nailbiter. The score was 25-23 and DU had team high 10 kills in the set.
-Seniors
Melissa Schmidt and
Adeleen Dunker both recorded service aces helping the Stars to a set victory.
-The match continued to go back and forth between these two schools with Central winning 25-15 in the fourth set. Dominican only recorded 4 kills in the set with 7 errors.
-It all came down to the fifth and final set that was close all the way until the end.
-Dominican got the first point in the set off a service error, but then allowed Central College to go on a 5-0 run.
-Febles got the Stars back on track with a service ace, but the score found itself being 10-6 in favor of Central.
-Now it was time for Dominican to go on a run with De La Riva starting earning a kill. Schmidt, Febles and Sophomore
Kathryn Ksiezak all getting big time kills.
-With the score being 12-10 in favor of DU, Central jumped right back to even the score.
-An attack error by Central gave the Stars a 13-12 lead, but Central answered right back tying the game up at 13.
-Febles added a kill to get the score to 14-13 and match point for Dominican. An attacking error for Central was the icing on the cake for the Stars to win 15-13 in a fantastic set. Â Â
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Tanya De La Riva continued her dominance with 11 kills, 17 digs and 3 service aces. Â Â
-SeniorÂ
Mia Febles found herself with 10 kills, 8 digs, 2 service aces and a block.
 -Sophomore
Kathryn Ksiezak led the team in blocks with 4 of them, she also pitched in with 4 kills.
-Senior
Adeleen Dunker collected 15 assists to her total.

Charlotte Hain had 12 digs in the match
-Senior
Miriam Guler had 10 digs in the match. Â Â

How it Happened:
-Dominican coming off the win against Central was looking to add another win to their name, but Macalester College had something else to say about that.
-In the first set Macalester won 25-17, DU ad 13 kills in the set. Â
-Senior
Mia Febles had 4 kills in the set.
-JuniorÂ
Ellery Shea did a little bit of everything for DU in this set collecting 2 kills and 3 services aces.
In the second set DU fell 25-15 but put up 10 kills. Just could not overcome 8 errors.
-The third set told a similar story with Macalester winning 25-19. The Stars had 9 kills in the set.
-Senior
Charlotte Hain had 2 service aces in the set. Â

Mia Febles had her coming out party leading the DU with 9 kills and 6 digs.

Rubie Morrissette had 10 assists and 6 digs.

The Dominican University women's volleyball team will be back in action Tuesday September 10
