Stars Dominate on the Road to Earn Second Win of the Season

Clayton, MO- The Dominican University men's soccer team played their second game of the weekend in the St. Louis area. Today the Stars faced off against the Griffins of Fontbonne University.

Results:
Dominican: 4
Fontbonne: 0

How it Happened:
-Dominican started the match strong getting two shots in the first five minutes of the game. One from Junior Paul Urban, and the other by Senior John Cronnolly.
-Dominican kept the foot on the gas in the first half earning 13 total shots, but none of them finding the back of the net.
-The half time score was tied at 0.  
-DU continued their pressure and were rewarded with a goal in the 53rd minute of the game when Junior Zaid Sibaai scored.
-Seven short minutes later Cronnolly buried his first goal of the game. Getting the score 2-0 in favor of Dominican.  
-The Stars found their third goal of the game in the 85th minute when Fifth Year Student Zach Gamster collected his first goal of the season.
-Three minutes later Sophomore Nicolas Leon scored to put the DU up 4-0.
-Dominican would finish with 28 total shots and 14 of them being on target.

Shining Stars:
-Senior John Cronnolly had a goal in the match on 6 total shots with 4 of them being on target.
-Junior Paul Urban collected 5 total shots. 2 of them were on the target.  
-Junior Zaid Sabaai had 1 shot and it found the back of the net.
-Fifth Year Student had 2 shots with 1 of them finding the back of the net.
-Sophomore Yael Gonzalez had 2 shots but neither of them being on target. Gonzalez did have an assist in the game.
-Senior Dylan Alic had an assist.
-Sophomore Nicolas Leon came off the bench and collected a goal on his loan shot.

What's Next:
The Dominican University men's soccer team will be back in action in six days. When the Stars host Nebraska Wesleyan University at 12:00pm on September 14th. Which will be the first game of Homecoming weekend.
