River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's soccer team faced-off against Wartburg College in the final game of the Dominican Invite.

Wartburg: 3
Dominican: 1
How it Happened:
-The match started off strong for the Stars, but Graduate Student
Grace Larson was unlucky as she had a shot ring off the crossbar.
-After both sides made first-half substitutions, Wartburg would strike first after DU could not clear it off the line.
-Wartburg would enter the halftime break with the lead still at 1-0.
-The Knights would extend their lead by 2 after corner.
-Junior
Natalia Lopez was able to answer back quickly for the Stars after a beautiful cross from Graduate Student
Lauren Mark.
-At the 66 minute mark, Wartburg would regain their 2 goal advantage, leading 3-1.
-DU tried to claw back into the contest, but the final would hold as 3-1, with the Knights having 11 shots on goal to the Stars 7.Â

-Junior
Natalia Lopez netted her first goal of the season during the match along with 2 shots.
-Graduate Student
Lauren Mark tallied her first assist of the campaign on the Lopez goal, and was strong defensively playing all 90 minutes
-Sophomore
Mackenzie Cuddihy fired 3 shots with 2 of them finding the target

th Year StudentÂ
Sarah Grimmett started in net for Dominican and ended the match with 7 saves.
