Milwaukee, Wis. – Dominican University Women's Basketball was in Milwaukee to take on Alverno College for the first leg of back-to-back road contests.

 Dominican: 74

How it Happened:
 -Freshman 
Chenoa Moss would give DU a quick 4-0 lead early in the 1
st quarter.
 -Freshman 
Danielle Washington would knock down a three to give Dominican a 13-9 lead with 2 minutes left in the 1
st.     
 -A pair of free throws from Sophomore 
Kaitlyn Milison would give the Stars a 19-11 lead at the end of the 1
st quarter.
 The Stars would dominate the paint offensively, as Moss, Milison, and Graduate Student 
Melissa Gomez stretched the DU lead to 46-22 by halftime.
 -DU shot 12-20 from the field in the 2
nd and went 3-4 from the line.
 -In the 3
rd quarter, Junior Lacey Shaffter would hit back-to-back jumpers in the paint to give the Stars a 61-35 lead.
 -Dominican would continue to protect the lead throughout the 4
th, extending it to as much as 30 via a free throw from Freshman 
Jayla Harris.
 -Sophomore 
Lia Saunders and Freshman 
Maya Kasuboski would be responsible for Dominican's final 4 points on the afternoon. 
 -The Stars would claim their first conference win of the season by a final of 74-53. 
 -Despite only shooting 10% from three, DU was able to set the tempo offensively, outscoring Alverno 38-16 in the paint, and had 25 points off the bench compared to Alverno's 0. 
 
Shining Stars:
 -Graduate Student 
Melissa Gomez continues to be the number one scoring option for the Stars, collecting a team-high 13 points while adding 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
 -Sophomore 
Lia Saunders finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds.
 -Freshman 
Chenoa Moss added 11 points and 5 rebounds.
 -Sophomore 
Kaitlyn Milison and Freshman 
Danielle Washington each had 10 points and shot 8-13 from the field collectively in the victory.

What's Next:
 Dominican University Women's Basketball improved to 5-8 overall and holds a 1-3 record in the conference. With the win against Alverno, the Stars have won 4 out of their last 6. DU will head to Lisle on Wednesday, January 15
th to face Benedictine. Tip-off will be at 7:00 p.m.
